Pridestel Mail Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 22, 2026 • Version: 1.1 • Publisher: Pridestel

Notice: Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. By installing, copying, or using Pridestel Mail ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.

1. Definitions

Throughout these Terms and Conditions:

  • "Pridestel", "We", "Us", or "Our": Refers to Pridestel, the author, publisher, and intellectual property owner of the Software.
  • "You" or "User": Refers to the individual or legal entity downloading, installing, or executing the Software.
  • "Software": Refers to the Pridestel Mail desktop client application across all supported platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux), including all updates, documentation, and bundled local AI utilities.
  • "Third-Party Services": Refers to external mail, calendar, or authentication providers including Google (Gmail, Google Workspace), Microsoft (Outlook, Exchange, Office 365), Yahoo, Apple iCloud, and custom IMAP/SMTP/CalDAV hosts.

2. Grant of License

Subject to your ongoing compliance with these Terms, Pridestel grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and execute the Software on personal computers and workstations owned or controlled by you, solely for your personal or internal business productivity purposes.

3. Acceptable Use & Prohibitions

You agree to use Pridestel Mail responsibly and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. You shall NOT:

  • Use the Software to transmit unsolicited commercial electronic messages ("SPAM"), bulk malicious payloads, or phishing communications.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, decrypt, disassemble, or derive the source code of any proprietary binary modules, except where permissible under non-waivable local statutory law.
  • Sell, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, or commercially host the Software as a paid service to third parties without prior written authorization from Pridestel.
  • Rebrand, fork, or redistribute copies of the Software under a different name or trademark.
  • Alter or delete any copyright notices, proprietary identifiers, or trademark designations embedded in the Software.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

The Software, including its graphical interface, logos, typography, visual layouts, icons, backend engine, and documentation, is the proprietary intellectual property of Pridestel and is protected under national and international copyright, trademark, and trade secret laws. Nothing in these Terms conveys any ownership or title to you.

5. Third-Party Services & Accounts

Pridestel Mail acts as an independent, local user agent that facilitates direct communication between your computer and your email service providers.

  • Direct Credentials: When you connect an email account (e.g. Gmail, Microsoft 365, IMAP), communication occurs directly between your client and that service provider.
  • Provider Policies: Your usage of third-party email services is governed exclusively by each respective provider's terms and privacy policies. Pridestel is not responsible for provider uptime, rate limiting, message delivery failures, or provider account suspensions.
  • Google OAuth: Pridestel Mail adheres strictly to the Google API Services User Data Policy for any Google credentials utilized within the app.

6. Built-in Local AI Assistant

The Software includes an optional, on-device AI assistant powered by local execution engines (such as llama.cpp).

  • Local Execution: All prompts, email summaries, and draft completions are computed 100% locally on your computer's CPU/GPU with zero cloud telemetry.
  • Verification Requirement: Generative AI outputs are provided "as-is" for assistive drafting only. Because language models can hallucinate or produce inaccurate responses, you are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all drafted messages before sending them.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. PRIDESTEL DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR COMPLETELY FREE OF ERRORS OR DEFECTS.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PRIDESTEL, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR DAMAGE TO COMPUTER SYSTEMS ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE. PRIDESTEL'S MAXIMUM AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED $50.00 USD OR THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE SOFTWARE LICENSE.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Pridestel and its officers, directors, and employees from and against any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) resulting from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Software.

10. Governing Law & Severability

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws governing Pridestel's corporate domicile, without regard to conflict of law principles. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
